Odessa, Ukraine – In a small village, the puppy Arthur was left to fend for himself after losing the rest of his family for unknown reasons. Fortunately, animal rescue Love Furry Friends learned about the dog and set out to rescue him. When the animal rights activists arrived on site, the pup reacted in a way that broke their hearts.

In a YouTube video posted last Saturday, you can see the women's encounter with the four‑legged friend. In it, Arthur looks at the two of them skeptically for just a moment. Then he’s already running over to greet them solemnly.

As lovingly as the puppy approaches, you might think he’s known the two Ukrainian women his whole life. The ladies hadn’t expected so much love and affection.

“His reaction broke our hearts,” reads the video’s title. Unfortunately, not everything was fine when Arthur opened up to his rescuers, limping as he came toward them.

The women therefore took him straight to the vet, where their Love‑Furry‑Friend colleague Olena took over to assist with the examination.

An X‑ray confirmed the women’s suspicion: Arthur had broken his leg. Fortunately, it turned out the fracture had already healed on its own, so the poor guy didn’t need surgery.

He did have to endure a series of vaccinations, but after that the four‑legged patient was released. His next stop was the Love Furry Friends animal shelter.

There he quickly met a few other dogs and his caretaker. Unfortunately, Arthur soon had to endure a bath.
