Stray dog who "never had a haircut" gets much-needed TLC – his transformation is jaw-dropping!
Irvine, California – In California, summer is naturally a very hot affair. Under these conditions, the poor street dog Jin had to fend for himself for years until he was finally rescued in June.
Animal‑rights activist Suzette Hall found the four‑legged friend in Irvine, hiding under a car, and was horrified at the sight.
"Humans have failed this baby for years," the rescuer wrote on Facebook on June 10.
"I still can’t believe what this sweet soul has endured," she added.
"It appears he may have never had a haircut in his entire life!"
Hall had no trouble getting the dog to come along. Jin was clearly just waiting for someone to help him.
"Who knows how long he suffered under cars in the scorching heat, trapped inside all that matting, in agony and pain with no way to ask for help," Hall wrote.
"But those days are over now."
What she discovered shortly after filled her with shock and joy: Jin had a microchip! So Hall tried her luck with the registered phone number.

Sadly, no one answered. A callback never came either.
When they arrived at the Camino Pet Hospital, Jin was first put under anesthesia.
While he was under, the staff carefully shaved his far‑overgrown coat.
Unfortunately, the veterinary team discovered during the exam that Jin suffered from eye problems and had a fatty tumor.
They estimated the shaggy dog to be a respectable eleven years old and were very impressed by his resilience under the circumstances.
After all that stress, Jin needed a few days to recover.
"He is finally coming out of his shell," Hall told The Dodo in a recent interview.
The brave pup has not only changed on the outside, but also on the inside.
"He was so scared of human touch, but now he is loving every minute of it," raved his proud rescuer.
