Stray no more! Stars align for seemingly somber pup in sweet reunification story
California – This sweet dog was in danger of dying from the start, and his rescuer couldn't shake a particular thought. A few days ago, Suzette Hall shared that she had once again rescued a dog from the street. This time, however, the stars were aligning a little differently than usual!
The animal welfare activist couldn't shake her sneaking suspicion that the dog's owner was actually looking for their four-legged friend. From the looks of it, it didn’t really appear that way.
"It turns out this sweet baby boy had been out there all weekend," Hall wrote on Facebook. "He would wander over to the railroad tracks, then make his way back to this business area."
She added: "He would hide underneath cars and lay in front of one of the gates, just waiting… scared, hungry, thirsty, and completely unsure of where he belonged."
A small but significant detail confirmed to Hall that her gut feeling was right all along.
Unlike stray dogs, this male pup was wearing a collar, and some type of tracking device seemed to be hanging from it. When he finally fell into Hall’s trap, disappointment set in when Californian finally took a closer look at the thing on his collar.
"When I finally got him into my van and out of the trap, I took a closer look at what I thought was the AirTag. It wasn’t an AirTag at all. It was some kind of strange flea collar," Hall said.
She continued, "But that’s okay, baby boy. We will figure everything out. ... I turned on the air conditioning, put him in my front seat, and this exhausted little angel just fell asleep."
What the animal lover couldn't know at the time is what type of reunification would occur in the following days.
In the end, her hope was finally confirmed. The animal really did have someone who was already looking for it – and now it’s exactly where it belongs.
