Wandering lone dog stuns woman when she tries to rescue it: "Cannot believe this little boy survived"
California – For weeks he had been wandering alone through the streets of California. Suzette Hall was terrified as she tried to rescue the poor Chihuahua from the street. One wrong move and the dog could have panicked and darted toward a moving car. So the animal welfare worker was all the more amazed when she set her trap and saw what actually happened.
On Wednesday, the Californian posted on her Facebook page about her latest dog rescue mission. In all caps, she wrote: “AND I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING YOU…30 SECONDS. THAT’S ALL IT TOOK.”
According to her, the lonely Chihuahua went straight into Hall’s cage without any hesitation. Yet everything had looked completely different before.
“Oh my goodness gracious. I cannot believe this little boy survived as long as he did. For several weeks, he had been going in circles. Literally making the same circle over and over again," she wrote.
"Down one of the BUSIEST streets I have ever seen, through an alley, and then right back around again. Day after day. Night after night,” the animal‑rights activist wrote.
She said “dear humans” had provided the poor animal with water and food, but no one was able to get it to safety.
There was also another danger looming for the little one.
Stranded dogs braves coyotes before making it to safety
"There are coyotes in that area," Hall explained. The story could have turned out very differently for the Chihuahua.
"Just a little brown Chihuahua. Nothing fancy. Nothing extraordinary to the world. But to me, HIS LITTLE LIFE MEANS EVERYTHING," Hall said.
A happy ending is still on the horizon for the pup, but first, he now has to undergo a medical examination – and after that, he’ll go to a shelter.
However, there's a silver lining: "BUT HE DOESN’T HAVE TO SURVIVE ANYMORE. NOW HE GETS TO LIVE," Hall explained. "You’re safe, baby boy. YOU’RE SAFE. AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO WALK THOSE STREETS AGAIN
