Bali, Indonesia – These travelers to Bali had an unusual encounter in their hotel: what was initially thought to be a massive spider turned out to be something much more... fabulous.

JC Chanowsky and his wife Angela were hanging out in their room at a resort on an Indonesian island when something crawled out onto the floor in front of them.

The black thing was fairly large and, at first glance, appeared to have long hairs.

"I honestly thought it was a spider in the room," Chanowsky recalled to The Dodo.

"We had just gotten out of bed and were like, 'We paid all this money for this fancy resort in a jungle and got spiders.'"

A second look at the crawling creature changed everything, however.

"I thought I was about to be a hero after screaming like a girl and kill the biggest Balinese spider I've seen this week," JC wrote in a viral Instagram video.

"Turns out it was 2 ants carrying Angela's eye lash to their queen."

Indeed, what the couple thought was a spider turned out to be one of Angela’s temporary-use fake eyelashes!

A group of Balinese ants had grabbed the lash and tried hauling the plastic product back to their nest.

Because the insects were much smaller than the lashes, JC and his partner hadn’t noticed them under the eyelashes at first.

Since the vacationers wanted to appreciate the ants' hard work, they decided not to strip them of their lash extensions.

"We let them bring it back to their queen as a trophy," JC said.

He and his wife won’t forget their encounter with the two glamorous ants anytime soon! Watch out, beauty influencers – these ants are getting into the game, and they're already doing some heavy lifting.
