San Antonio, Texas - After swallowing several inedible objects at once, this silly snake ended up at an animal clinic in Texas, leaving even longtime veterinarians amazed!
The South Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital shared the unusual case on its Instagram page, posting video footage that not everyone can watch without difficulty.
The scaly patient was brought to the animal clinic after swallowing three golf balls. From the outside, the round foreign objects were clearly visible through the snake’s skin.
The veterinarians faced the challenge of removing the balls safely without having to cut the reptile open. To do so, they sedated the snake, allowing them to easily push each golf ball through its long body until they emerged from its mouth.
"Thankfully, surgery was avoided. With the patient heavily sedated, our veterinary team was able to carefully manipulate and safely remove all three golf balls manually," the animal hospital wrote in the caption of the hard (for some!) to watch video.
"This was definitely a memorable case," they said. "You never quite know what’s going to come (slithering) through the doors in exotic animal medicine!
The clip is clearly causing a slithering scene on Instagram as it's already racked up over 5 million views!
Some viewers were speculating in the comments section that the snake must have mistaken the golf balls for tasty eggs and lamented the tragic decision to swallow them: “Poor baby!"
Someone else joked, "That’s where my golf balls go I swear it’s always in the fairway."
