Cincinnati, Ohio – When a violent thunderstorm hit a golf course near Cincinnati, Chris Schiavone decided to keep his phone out and capture the event on video. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning hit his arm!

The incident occurred on August 7 at Pebble Creek Golf Course. At that time, severe thunderstorms were moving across the area, as USA Today reported.

The man from Ohio had originally intended to film his buddies freeing a golf cart that had gotten stuck in the mud during the heavy rain, but within moments, the handheld video took a turn for the dramatic.

A lightning bolt soon touched down near the group and struck Schiavone on the arm!

After the strike, Schiavone said he temporarily lost sensation in his body, and his hearing was affected. Despite the dramatic incident, he sustained no life‑threatening injuries and is on the road to recovery.

Later, the golfer himself spoke up about the viral moment in an Instagram post.
