Bride left at the altar has blowout bash anyway, and TikTok is obsessed: "It will still be my big day"

Tuscany, Italy – Katherine Jones was left at the altar by her fiancé just days before the wedding – but instead of sulking, she still celebrated her "big day" in Tuscany. You don't need a wedding for a party, after all!

Since early August, the 36-year-old woman has posted dozens of clips to TikTok showing her humorous take on her situation.

"I just feel like we shouldn't get married," her long‑time partner had said a few days before the planned dream wedding in Northern Italy, she told the Mirror.

Despite the heartbreak, Jones quickly realized she wasn’t going to cancel the big party.

Everything had been planned and paid for – and was nonrefundable. Further, friends and family had set aside the time, and their tickets were already booked.

So the Brit let the rest of the celebration go ahead (almost) exactly as planned.

"I could never marry a man who could do this to me. Despite the rollercoaster of emotions, I knew one thing for sure. Groom or no groom, I was going to Italy," she said. "This event was happening, with or without him."

The result was unforgettable. The best day of her life? Probably not; the pain was still too intense.

When she first arrived at the venue, Katherine says she "broke down" in tears.

"Despite my tears, looking out at the perfect Tuscan view, I told myself, 'I'd rather be here than back at home sobbing in bed. I'm going to make the most of every minute,'" she said.

"I may not be getting today, but there is still going to be a party, complete with wedding dress, bridesmaids, and toasts to the bride. It will still be my big day."

"Wedding" party goes viral on social media

And Jones and her guests definitely did make the most of things! On TikTok, the videos of the exceptionally fun-looking non-wedding amassed over 50 million views.

The footage shows the routine of an ordinary wedding day – just without a groom: Jones gets her makeup done, stands at the altar, and parties as hard as she can.

The event was filled with humorous moments, like her delight at having avoided a divorce.

Then, instead of a honeymoon, she headed straight for a "Mommymoon" of sorts – spending her "honeymoon" with her adoring mama. Aw!
