A dude on Reddit recently up about an extraordinary experience he had when his girlfriend decided to get a tattoo despite his objections. The bizarre tale of woe opened a discussion about boundaries and preferences.

"I want to preface this with a disclaimer that there is nothing wrong with having tattoos," the user prefaced his post. "They aren't my thing."

"Early on in the relationship she had mentioned wanting to get some tattoos," he explained. "I told her she had every right to do so since it's her body, but I find tattoos very unattractive and I would likely break up if she went through with it."

He explained that while she was angry about the situation, and passive aggressive for a few days, she eventually agreed not to get tattooed. It didn't last forever, though.

"Fast forward to about two months ago and she makes another attempt to get me on board," he said. "I went out of town to visit my cousin for a week and come home to her with a partial sleeve done. Her arm was basically one big scab."

They broke up on the spot, and he stormed out in a huff, angry that she'd chosen to get a tattoo. In the post he claims that she showed "blatant disrespect" for him and then begged to get back together a few days later.

"I know it's bad form to be a guy calling his ex crazy, but this girl is nuts!" he wrote. In a follow-up, he slapped back against people who criticized him for being shallow and unreasonable, declaring their comments "pretty funny."
