In today's Viral Video of the Day, unpacking a new mattress turned into an unexpected battle for one young man – and his mom caught the hilarious ending on camera.

In the clip, filmed by his mom Lucy, the visibly sweaty man can be seen struggling to free his brand-new mattress from its tightly compressed packaging.

He wrestles with the wrapping and carefully cuts his way through it, but the mattress wasn't going down without a fight.

Just as he finally manages to cut through the packaging, the compressed mattress suddenly bursts open directly in his face, knocking him backward in a perfectly timed finale.

"His back being drenched in sweat is really adding to the comedy of this video LMFAOO," one viewer wrote.
