The Republic of Cuba is an island country in the Caribbean with a population of around 10 million inhabitants. The capital city of Havana is located just over 100 miles from Key West, Florida.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to take over Cuba, raising fears of US invasion or intervention. Meanwhile, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has vowed to resist US imperialist aggression and defend the nation's sovereignty. 

Amid US threats, many activists and advocates around the world have praised Cuba's revolutionary legacy and affirmed the need for solidarity with the nation's people. Calls to end the blockade are growing as the Trump administration escalates its economic siege.
