The Academy has opened its doors to new members including several prolific actors and music artists.

According to the Academy's website, the 2022 class of invitees also include executives, film editors, and cinematographers.

Some of this year's most prestigious invitees include Eilish, Taylor-Joy, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Fifty Shades of Gray's leading man Jamie Dornan.

Disney exec Dana Walden, actors Jessie Buckley and Ariana DeBose, and composer Natalie Holt were also invited to join the Academy's membership.

If every current invitee accepts the offer, it will bring the total number of Academy members to 10,665, with 9,665 eligible to vote for the 95th Oscars, which are set to take place on March 12, 2023.

Stars like Robert Pattinson, Issa Rae, Laverne Cox, Jurnee Smollett, Steven Yeun, and H.E.R. were all invited to join last year.

The newly unveiled list of invitees goes to show the Academy is doing its best to increase the number of women and people of color in its membership ranks following 2015's #OscarsSoWhite controvery.
