Britney Spears clarifies comments amid rumors of beef with Selena Gomez
Los Angeles, California - Britney Spears broke her silence on her shady Instagram post that fans assumed was a dig at Selena Gomez.
The drama started on Tuesday when the 40-year-old pop singer shared back-to-back shots of herself in a red bikini.
She captioned the post, "Don't you just love the nerve of women who stand firmly getting awards and speak on their beliefs about not showing their bodies on instagram???!!!!!"
Britney added, "Yet giving righteous speeches shaming other women for exposing their bodies, I would like to tell those people don’t be a hypocrite as you suck on your lollipop having HUGE budget dreams."
While the Circus singer didn't name-drop the Disney star, it didn't take long for people to connect the dots to Gomez, whose used her 2016 American Music Awards acceptance speech to plead with girls to stop showing their bodies on Instagram.

Fans were especially confused since the 30-year-old attended Britney's wedding to Sam Ashgari in June.
One fan wrote, "Brit dear, you didn't get the message in Selena's speech! She was not referring to you, let go! Stop shaming her."
But on Wednesday, Britney shared a followup post assuring fans that she wasn't dissing her friend.
"What I said had nothing to do with anyone specific at all…it was clearly a subject in hand all women have had to deal with," she wrote.
"If anybody knows what judgment feels like, I’m sure Selena has gone through something pretty similar."
Though Gomez hasn't commented on the matter, it appears that there isn't issue between these gal pals.
