Atlanta, Georgia - Cardi B joined her husband, rapper Offset, in paying tribute to his late Migos group mate Takeoff, who was fatally shot Tuesday.

The Bronx, New York-born star retweeted a Complex Music video of the Migos members describing the importance of their brotherhood and of family, with Takeoff showing a ring featuring a throwback image of him with his mother.

"[It’s] always going to stay with me, too," Takeoff says in the clip. "You know what I mean? I ain’t never going to take it off. I take everything else off, but I’ll never take this one off."

The retweet marked Cardi’s first public reaction since Takeoff was killed outside a Houston-area bowling alley. Offset also hasn’t publicly commented but he did change his profile picture on Instagram to an image of Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball.

The 28-year-old artist was one of about 40 to 50 people at 810 Billiards & Bowling at the time of the shooting, which also left a man and woman with non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

A medical examiner on Wednesday said Takeoff’s primary cause of death was gunshots to his head and torso.

Authorities say at least two people fired guns and have not made any arrests.

Takeoff launched Migos with his cousin Offset and uncle Quavo in Atlanta in 2008. The Grammy-nominated group is known for hits such as Bad and Boujee and Walk It Talk It.
