Austin, Texas - Actor and musician Cody Longo, best known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and Hollywood Heights, tragically passed away at the age of just 34, according to the star's family.

In a statement shared with multiple outlets on Friday evening, wife Stephanie mourned his passing, saying: "Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated. He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you."

The couple shared three young children.

Longo's manager, Alex Gittelsonm, was heartbroken "for his beautiful family."

"He had taken some time away from acting to pursue music and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we had kept in touch regularly and he was excited to get back into acting this year."

According to TMZ, the artists had been struggling with alcoholism for years and had recently relapsed, despite spending the summer in rehab. His body was reportedly found in his bed by police, who broke down the door to Longo's Austin, Texas residence after his wife was unable to reach him.

The actor stared as Eddie Duran in the TeenNick drama Hollywood Heights, but over the past couple of years, he made headlines for legal troubles, including being arrested for sex assault on a child.
