Keith said that he looks forward to spending this time with his family. In his post, he said he would be "seeing the fans sooner rather than later, so I can't wait."

The 60-year-old, who has also starred in several films and shows, was set to start his Country Comes to Town tour this Friday in Wheaton, Illinois. Though he didn't explicitly cancel any performances, his publicist Elaine Schock told USA Today that Keith won't being playing any upcoming gigs "for now."

The Beer for My Horses musician has released 19 studio albums and has been nominated for a Grammy several times. In 2021, then-President Donald Trump awarded Keith the National Medal of Arts.
