London, UK - Emma Watson is setting the record straight on rumors about her career and love life. The Harry Potter star clarified gossip surrounding her personal life and added that her career is far from "dormant."

The ultra-private actor has politely clapped back at rumors that she has retired from acting and also addressed hearsay that she is engaged.

The gossip began after The Bling Ring star was spotted out with her boyfriend, Leo Robinton, with a noticeable ring on her left hand, leading to speculation that the couple is engaged.

Watson has also been absent from her social media pages, which heightened the theories she quit acting.

On Monday, Watson, who is best known for her role as Hermoine Granger, returned to Twitter after her hiatus to clear up the confusion.

"Dear Fans, Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is ‘dormant or not’ are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue. If I have news – I promise I’ll share it with you," she wrote.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower star added in a follow-up tweet that she's been spending time making the most of the coronavirus pandemic.

Emma Watson's manager also explained that while her social media accounts are dormant, her career "isn't."

This isn't the first time the Little Women star's life has been subject to silly gossip. For some time, it was heavily rumored that the actor had a romance with her costar Tom Felton, a.k.a. Draco Malfoy.

Both Watson and Felton have expressed that they're really close friends, but it didn't stop Harry Potter fans from wishing "Temma" would become a thing!

Now that Watson has cleared the air, will she make a return to the big screen soon?
