Jake Paul shocks the boxing world with a split decision win over Woodley!

Cleveland, Ohio - Everyone’s least favorite boxer and internet celebrity Jake Paul kept his record in the ring untarnished as he took on pro fighter Tyron Woodley all eight rounds on the way to a "disappointing" win!

The packed crowd at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland witnessed Woodley (39) lose to Paul in their main event catchweight (190 pounds) fight by way of a split decision – 77-75, 75-77, 78-74. Judging by the reaction in the Cleveland arena, which was technically supposed to be home ground for the 24-year-old prizefighting amateur, the audience was just as bummed out by the result as Woodley.

Once Round 1 started, fans had more energy than Woodley it seemed, passionately chanting "F*** Jake Paul!" The former UFC welterweight champion hardly threw a punch, much less landed one, but he did cause some damage in the rest of the fight.

The next two rounds had both guys trading shots, and Woodley put a hurting on Paul in the fourth, leaving him visibly shaken up.

The two fighters showed obvious fatigue in the second half of the match, with Paul seemingly landing more punches than his opponent. After eight rounds, the decision went to the judges’ scorecards for the final result.

Paul did indeed outwork Woodley. He threw over 40 more punches to connect 34% of them to Woodley’s 32% overall. It was an even bigger gap in power punches, where Paul threw 30 fewer attempts, but still connected on 41% of his shots to Woodley’s 36%.

Stats are the last thing Paul's detractors wanted to hear though, as they were all over Twitter making their feelings known.

Many are hoping Paul’s next opponent is someone with decent boxing prowess, who’ll finally knock some sense into a fighter that is somehow still undefeated, despite having only a fraction of the ring experience of a boxer at any serious level.
