Katy Perry reveals she declined to work with Billie Eilish: "Huge mistake!"
Los Angeles, California - Katy Perry has admitted she made a "huge mistake" when it came to an early opportunity to work with Billie Eilish.
In a TikTok video shared by 102.7 KIIS FM, the 38-year-old pop star recalled receiving Eilish's debut single, Ocean Eyes, from her record label.
At the time, the 20-year-old was a new artist at Perry's record label, Unsub Records, and the company had hoped to convince the Roar artist to work with Eilish.
"It was a song called Ocean Eyes, and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like, 'Meh, boring,'" Perry confessed.
Of course, Ocean Eyes is the song that put Eilish on the map, and the rest was history.
"Big mistake. Huge mistake," Perry said.
She continued to tell the crowd, "Don't let this hit the internet!"
Katy Perry's confession goes viral
Naturally, the clip soon went viral online as fans reacted to the shocking confession.
"Crazy how fame determines the level of respect and appreciation someone's art gets no matter how good," one Twitter user replied.
"the fact that this happened is so embarrassing but saying it PUBLICLY?????" another joked.
Hopefully these two stars will bless the world with a proper collaboration one day!
