On Thursday, both parties shared a statement confirming a settlement had been reached ahead of a scheduled trial.

"Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said. I cannot recount everything that happened," Kesha said. "I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one."

The Praying artist added that she hopes for "nothing but peace to all parties involved."

Dr. Luke emphasized Kesha's acknowledgment of not being able to recount the events of the night in question and said, "I am absolutely certain that nothing happened."

"I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years," he said.

The music producer said he wishes Kesha well, echoing her hope to move forward from the case.

Kesha has accused Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her in 2005

In 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, and accused him of drugging and raping her in 2005.

Gottwald then countersued the singer for defamation, denying the allegations and claiming that Kesha was making the accusations to get out of her contract with his label. She has vehemently denied these claims.

Per The Guardian, Kesha's case was dismissed in 2016 due to the age of the allegations, but Gottwald's defamation case continued despite appeals.
