Los Angeles, California - Kevin Hart said farewell to his beloved father in an emotional Instagram post.

On Wednesday evening, the 43-year-old star revealed the news that his dad, Henry Robert Witherspoon, has died.

In a moving Instagram post, Hart paid tribute to Witherspoon with various family pics that also included a touching shot of the actor with his father, Hart's wife Eniko, and the couple's two children.

"RIP to one of the realest & rawest to ever do," Hart wrote in the post.

"Love you dad. Gone but never forgotten….Give mom a hug for me….y’all did good man. Thank you for everything….I’m a better father because of you. We will all make you proud."

The Jumanji star followed up with another sweet picture of the two together, which he captioned "RIP spoon."

Several of the Think Like a Man star's close friends and colleagues offered their condolences to the grieving actor.

His frequent collaborator Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wrote, "Luv u I’m her," while artist T-Pain commented, "I glad he got to see you on top of the world bro. Blessings my dude."

For those who are familiar with the comedian's stand-up career, Hart had often used his father and their past fractured relationship as inspiration for his gut-punching jokes.
