Liverpool, England - Sex and the City star Kim Cattral has suffered a huge loss as she revealed that her mother has died.

On late Tuesday, the How I Met Your Father actor took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late mom Shane, who died at the age of 94.

"Shane Cattrall 1929-2022
Rest in peace Mum," she captioned the post.

The 66-year-old featured several intimate shots of herself with her mom over the years in the heartfelt post.

Cattrall received some love from her friends in the industry, including her Queer as Folk costars Stephen Dunn and Johnny Sibily, who each left their condolences in the comments section.

Comedian Randy Rainbow also wrote, "So sorry, Kim, Lots of love," with three red heart emojis.

The Ice Princess actor had just celebrated her mom on this past Mother's Day, sharing a selfie of herself smiling from ear to ear while wrapping her arms around her mother.

"Happy Mum's Day Mum, 93 Years young," she wrote in the sweet post.

This is the second tragedy to strike Cattrall's immediate family in recent years.

In 2018, the SATC alum asked for the public's help in finding her brother Christopher who had disappeared in Alberta.

Unfortunately, he was found dead several hours later, having taken his own life.
