Los Angeles, California – In honor of Janet Jackson's 55th birthday, Kim Kardashian dropped $25,000 on an iconic outfit from the pop star's music video for her 1993 hit, If.

If you thought it had to be your birthday to celebrate in a high-fashion way, leave it to Kim Kardashian (40) to prove you wrong.

The 36-year-old shelled out the winning bid of $25,000 on Julien's Auctions for the customized two-piece outfit from Janet Jackson's 1993 music video for her single, to honor the queen of pop's 55th birthday.

Kim confirmed on Sunday that she was the lucky recipient on her Instagram Story, saying that she couldn't "believe I won this outfit", after wishing Jackson a happy birthday.

The outfit was listed for several days on celebrity auction website Julien's Auctions as part of a three-day event, Iconic Treasures From The Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson, that took place during the music artist and philanthropist's birthday weekend. Among the items were leather-print paddles, a condom dispensing machine, and a set of foreplay dice.

A percentage of the proceeds from the auction were donated to Compassion International, a nonprofit American child sponsorship and Christian humanitarian aid organization that works with missions to release children from the grips of poverty.

This wasn't the first Jackson-family item Kim has bought from an auction, either.

In 2019, the 40-year-old bought her daughter North, who was six years old at the time, the exact velvet jacket Michael Jackson wore on an infamous outing with Elizabeth Taylor.

According to People, Kim and ex-husband Kanye West had previously justified buying the jacket for North simply because she was a huge Michael Jackson fan.
