Kim Kardashian's take on the "British chav" TikTok trend is problematic

Los Angeles, California - Kim Kardashian has jumped on TikTok's newest beauty trend, but she may want to rethink the decision.

2023 just started, and Kimmy Cakes has already caused some controversy.

On Tuesday, the 42-year-old SKIMs owner took part in the "British chav" extreme makeover trend that's currently taking over TikTok.

The clip that was shared to her joint account with her daughter North shows Kim drastically transforming herself by over-lining her eyebrows, applying an extremely light skin-tone concealer under her eyes, and painting her lips with an opaque lipstick shade.

She completes the look by putting her now-brunette locks in a messy bun all the while chomping on gum as the tune of a girl singing in a British accent plays in the background.

The "British chav" trend may seem like harmless fun, but it actually is deeply offensive.

According to Wikipedia, the term "chav" is normally used in a derogatory way when referring to "anti-social, lower-class youth dressed in sportswear" and flashy accessories.

It's evident that Kimmy and many other TikTokers did not do their homework before partaking in the new challenge.

The Kardashians star's video didn't get any call-out comments from other TikTok users for one simple reason: the comments were turned off.

Perhaps Kim should leave the shocking transformations to North.
