It's been years since Lindsay Lohan last appeared on the big or small screen, but there's a time for everything – and her time is now.

After disappearing from the pop culture scene and moving to Dubai, it seems that the starlet is ready to enter the American media circus again.

The currently unnamed holiday rom-com will be streamed on Netflix with Lohan playing the lead role.

Deadline reported that the movie will follow Lohan's character, a newly-engaged hotel heiress, who suffers from amnesia following a ski accident and finds herself in the care of an attractive, blue-collar lodge owner just days before Christmas.

This will be the Mean Girls actor's first time on the big screen in several years. In 2017, the 34-year-old packed up and headed to the Middle East and made a quiet life for herself in Dubai.

In a 2018 interview with W Magazine, Lohan said, "There’s a certain calmness that I find there. There’s no paparazzi, no cameras; that’s a big deal for me."

Lohan has historically been a main target for photographers, who would follow and hound her everywhere she went. From car rides to nights stumbling out of clubs, they were watching like a hawk.

But exchanging paps for inner peace wasn't the only thing drawing Lohan to Dubai; she had a lot to say about the local women.

"Women have a very strong community. It’s a whole different world, which is really cool. It’s a place you think women don’t have as much of a right to be themselves, but they actually have more than you’d imagine," Lohan said.

If her positive and inspiring Instagram is any indicator of where Lohan is at mentally, fans and rom-com lovers are in for a treat with this comeback.
