Lizzo tries out disgusting TikTok trend that has people squirming

Los Angeles, California – It takes a daring soul to try out some food trends on TikTok, and Lizzo doesn't mind being the person to do so, no matter how off-beat it might be.

There are many food items that seemingly don't go together. In this case, it's mustard and watermelon.

Yet one TikToker is on a mission to convince people that the two are a match made in heaven, and Lizzo was on board to give it the ol' college try.

"Alright, I've been seeing this shit on the internet," Lizzo says in a stitched video with the trend's originator, yayayayummy, whose original currently has 22.8 million views.

Against the backdrop of a kitchen that looks like it's straight out of a communal college dorm, Lizzo mustered on with the goal of proving whether the combo was "bussin' or disgustin'".

In the original TikTok, claims were made that the flavor duo was perfect because "it's so tangy, it's so vinegary, and it matches so well with the watermelon's sweet juiciness."

Every single one of the statements are easily up for debate. But in Lizzo we trust!

After she drizzles a dollop of mustard on one of her watermelon slices, she scrunches her nose and puckered her lips together – already a bad sign.

"I don't understand," the 33-year-old artist says, after taking a first bite.

But rather than calling it a day, she went in for round two.

Unfortunately, doubling down didn't seem to make the taste any better, as Lizzo exclaimes "huh?!"

Apparently she wasn't the only one who was turned off by the combination, with one user commenting, "Watermelon Sugar why?" and another asked, "Why is this even allowed?"

To be fair, the original TikTok specified the need to use French's yellow mustard, and Lizzo went for its longtime competitor Heinz.

Is the difference really in the mustard, or is this trend an unsolvable mystery? The world may never truly know.
