Nick Carter addresses Aaron Carter's sudden death: "Mental illness is the real villain here"

Los Angeles, California - Singer Nick Carter broke his silence about the untimely passing of his younger brother, Aaron Carter with a heartfelt and tear-jerking Instagram post.

The news of Aaron Carter's tragic passing at the age of 34 shook the world on Saturday. Now, his older brother and Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter is speaking out in the wake of the embattled child star's death.

In a carousel post on Insta that featured several snaps of the two brothers, the 42-year-old wrote: "My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."

He continued, "Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother."

Not much is known about the I Want Candy singer's death at this time other than the fact that the was found unresponsive in the bathtub at his Lancaster, California home.
