Los Angeles, California - Actor Nicolas Cage and his wife Riko Shibata have become parents, yet their new arrival's name has left some puzzled.

As a rep for the couple confirmed, the two welcomed their daughter August Francesca Coppola Cage on September 7 in Los Angeles.

"Mother and daughter are doing fine," they said.

This is the pair's first child together, who have been married since last year. This is Cage's fifth marriage, and he has two older sons, Kal-El (16) and Weston (31), from his former relationships.

The 58-year-old movie star announced in January that he and his wife were expecting, and in April, revealed they were having a girl.

In an interview, Cage admitted, "My boys are all grown up, and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to that."

Yet, he may have jumped the gun when he let slip that the couple already had a name picked out for the new bundle of joy.

Nicolas Cage changes his daughter's planned baby name

When it comes to names, the pair seems to have had a change of heart.

In April, Cage revealed they had decided on "Akira Francesco" for a boy and "Lennon Augie" for a girl.

Cage's late father's name was August Coppola, and he said his uncle, famed director Francis Ford Coppola, had decided to change his name to Francesco. Lennon was apparently in honor of John Lennon and his music.

It seems that the pair has thrown the two family names together instead of incorporating the Beatles' star into the mix.

Perhaps if Cage has another child, he won't announce their name ahead of time - just in case anything changes.
