Santa Monica, California - Owen Wilson had the tires stripped from his Tesla in a shocking grand theft incident.

TMZ reported that the 53-year-old star parked his car right outside his Santa Monica home, and woke up to find it had been stripped by thieves.

The car was left on blocks with its tires and rims stolen.

The estimated cost for repairs and replacements is estimated to be around $4,000.

Law enforcement are investigating the incident as a grand theft crime, which is defined in California as the taking of another's property that exceeds $950.

"No one saw anything. There were no witnesses to the crime," Lieutenant Rudy Flores of the Santa Monica Police Department told Fox News.

Police also said they are reviewing security footage within the neighborhood for more leads.

Wilson most recently starred in the romantic comedy Marry Me alongside Jennifer Lopez, and is currently shooting the Disney comedy Haunted Mansion with Danny DeVito and Rosario Dawson.
