Los Angeles, California - While discussing her reunion with boygenius, singer Phoebe Bridgers responded to the swirling rumors about her relationship status and shed some light on her friendship with Taylor Swift.

The 28-year-old recently posed for the cover of Rolling Stone, where she and boygenius collaborators Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker recreated Nirvana's iconic 1994 cover shoot.

While discussing a new song off the group's upcoming album The Record, Bridgers addressed some of the speculation surrounding her love life.

In 2020, the Kyoto singer went public with her relationship with Normal People star Paul Mescal. The fan-favorite couple was rumored to be engaged last November, but breakup rumors have been running rampant after Bridgers was spotted repeatedly with comedian Bo Burnham in December.

In the new interview, she gave fans some insight into the song Revolution 0, which she says is about "falling in love online." Though she didn't confirm it was about him, Bridgers and Mescal famously shared admiration for each other's work on social media, leading to a DM exchange that spiraled into a two-year relationship.

"With the attention span of being in lockdown, it was just really beautiful," she said. Much uncertainty continues to linger regarding whether the couple is still together.

Bridgers declined to comment on her exact relationship status, but she did confirm she is not currently engaged before the conversation turned to the topic of T. Swift.

When it comes to maintaining the boundary between her public and private life, Bridgers says she looks up to her Nothing New collaborator, Taylor Swift.

"She's such a deep, wise human being, and has not sacrificed fun at all," Bridgers says of the 33-year-old star. "She validates those boundaries that people have tried to take from her for her whole life."

The pair will bring their friendship to the stage during Swift's highly-anticipated The Eras Tour. Bridgers will open for the Anti-Hero singer in Nashville, Philadelphia, Foxborough, and East Rutherford.

Mescal and Swift's boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, each starred as the leading men in adaptations of Sally Rooney's novels: Normal People and Conversations with Friends, respectively. The duo also appeared together in Variety's Actors on Actors in December.

To add to the seemingly endless connections between these stars, Bridgers co-wrote and performed a new song called Sidelines for the Conversations with Friends soundtrack.

Along with her appearances on The Eras Tour, the Motion Sickness singer is slated to perform with boygenius at Coachella in April.
