Los Angeles, California - Ryan Gosling said he was thrilled about his appearance as Ken in the new Barbie movie.

"Finally, it’s happening," he told Variety.

Gosling clearly believes he was born for the role of Barbie's buff boo: "This has been coming my whole life," he said.

Images of Gosling with tanned skin and platinum blond hair were released in June, sending the internet into a frenzy.

"I felt like I was seeing myself. I felt seen. I think a lot of Kens will feel seen when they see this," the 41-year-old star added.

"Gotta do it for the Kens. Nobody plays with the Kens."

The movie about the world-famous doll stars Gosling alongside leading lady Margot Robbie (32). The star-studded cast also includes America Ferrera (38), Kate McKinnon (38), Simu Liu (33), and Will Ferrell (54).

Greta Gerwig (38), known for the films Little Women and Lady Bird, is set to direct the movie.
