Los Angeles, California - Surprise! Emmy Rossum just welcomed her first child with husband Sam Esmail!

Tuesday night, the Shameless actor had some exciting news to share with her fans on Instagram.

"On a sunny Monday morning, at 8:13AM, we welcomed our daughter into the world," she announced as she posted two pictures from a black-and-white maternity shoot as well as a photo of her newborn's footprint.

Her fans were left absolutely speechless. Until this week, Rossum and Esmail had kept their pregnancy their little secret.

"Omg, wait. I had no idea she's pregnant! Congrats," one of them wrote and another, "Wait, WHAT? Congratulations!"

Shortly after the announcement, she once again took to the social media platform to share another photo of herself standing on a window ledge, gently holding her large baby bump.

"Two weeks before our daughter was born," the new mother captioned the pic.

The couple didn't reveal the name of their baby girl yet.

Rossum and the Mr. Robot creator started dating in 2013, and got engaged in 2015. They finally said yes to each other in 2017.
