London, UK – The release of the new James Bond film, No Time To Die, has been delayed again.

The 25th James Bond film is now scheduled to have its worldwide premiere in cinemas on October 8, according to an announcement on the 007 website.

Daniel Craig's final turn as British spy James Bond was originally scheduled for release in October 2019, but was delayed to February and then April 2020 because of a change of director from Danny Boyle to Cary Joji Fukunaga and revisions to the screenplay.

It then became one of the first films to have its release date postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was pushed back to November 2020, then March 2021, and now late October.

A large number of films have been delayed due to the pandemic.

Entertainment giant Warner Bros dealt a blow to the embattled cinema industry when it announced plans in December for its entire 2021 film line-up to premiere online at the same time as in US cinemas.

Godzilla vs Kong, Dune, and Matrix 4 are among those to be released on the HBO Max streaming service.

The makers of the James Bond films have so far ruled out No Time To Die being released on a streaming platform.

An MGM spokesman told the US trade journal Variety in October last year that the film was "not for sale" and that the studio wanted to "preserve the theatrical experience for moviegoers."
