Lady Gaga may be the new Harley Quinn!
Burbank, California - Pop sensation and actor Lady Gaga is reportedly in early talks with Warner Bros. Studios to star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming Joker sequel.
With many details on the project being kept under wraps, nothing is quite set in stone.
But if the deal goes through, Gaga may be playing Harley Quinn in the sequel to 2019's Joker, a role that has only been previously played by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad movies.
Director Todd Philips recently posted on Instagram what seems to be the script for the sequel, titled Joker: Folie à deux.
The French tag line is a reference to a medical phenomenon where two people share a delusion or mental illness.
Quinn's character in the original comics begins as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, where she first meets the Joker, who is being treated for insanity. She quickly falls hopelessly in love and becomes obsessed with the villain.
No plot details have been revealed about the script thus far, but rumor has it that Phillips also plans on making it a musical.
As highly anticipated as the sequel may already be, bringing a name like Lady Gaga to the cast is an absolute game changer.
