On Sunday evening, the world tuned in for the star-studded affair held at the Microsoft Theater in LA. And there were cheers, jeers, and talk of the moon landing during the annual awards show.

Hosted by Wayne Brady, the AMAs celebrated chosen fan-favorites, with T-Swift making her Swifties proud by taking home most of the night's gold. The Midnights artist, who was nominated for six awards, snagged the trophy for Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop Album.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who had the most noms of anyone this year, won big by scoring wins for Favorite Latin Male Artist and Favorite Latin Album.

Singing legend Lionel Richie was given the prestigious Icon Award, keeping the audience rocking All Night Long.

And Machine Gun Kelly stunned fans with his jaw-dropping spiked suit apparel, while also feeding into the ongoing conspiracy theory that the United States never actually landed on the moon in 1969.

"I'm a rocket man. We weren't born on the moon but we looked at it and we were curious and then we went there – supposedly – and these last two rock albums to me were me going to the moon," MGK said while accepting the award for Favorite Rock Artist.

Other honors went to Beyoncé for Favorite Female Artist, Harry Styles for Favorite Male Pop Artist, and rapper Kendrick Lamar for Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist amid his long-awaited return to music.

All in all, it was one heck of night for music's biggest artists, and here's hoping next year is even bigger and brighter!
