Nas and Wu-Tang Clan unite for NY State of Mind tour!
The tour kicks off on August 30 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis, Missouri and will run across 25 cities, ending on October 4 at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California.
Both acts are absolute east coast legends in the hip-hop game, and them uniting for a tour is a monumental event for the genre.
Nas, born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, got his start in 1999 and quickly gained notoriety with his debut album Illmatic back in 94. The title of the tour is actually taken from the second track from the record.
To date, he has released 14 albums, including Magic, his most recent record that came out in 2021, and he is widely considered one of the greatest rappers of all time.
The Wu-Tang Clan formed in Staten Island, New York in 92, combining their love for eastern philosophy, kung fu movies, and comic books. The group now consists of 9 members – RZA, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon the Chef, Inspect ah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna. Original member Ol' Dirty Bastard passed away in 2014.
They dropped their debut release Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in 93, and it is regarded as one of the best records of the genre. Last week, the album was archived into the US Library of Congress.
Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, April 26 at 10 AM EST via Ticketmaster.
