SZA has 100 songs for long awaited sophomore album that's due "any day"

Los Angeles, California - Though SZA has dropped several chart-topping songs since the release of her debut album, fans have been pining for her sophomore effort. According to the singer, its release might be upon us sooner than we think.

SZA confirmed she has recorded over 100 songs for her sophomore album over the last five years.

Rihanna's fans likely feel the pain of SZA's fans in terms of wanting new albums to vibe out to.

It's been half a decade since SZA dropped her absolute gem of a debut album, titled Ctrl, and fans have essentially been itching for her sophomore effort since its 2017 release.

That's not to say she hasn't given music lovers little gifts in the form of songs and collaborations since, because she has with tracks like Hit Different, I Hate U, and Good Days.

But it seems like an album drop is right around the corner for the 32-year-old, who told TMZ at LAX on Monday that her sophomore album, which doesn't have a known title, should be dropping "any day."

When asked how many songs she was "sitting on," SZA responded that it's around 100. "Five years worth of material," she told the man recording, who said running into her at LAX was like running into Michael Jordan.

SZA was extremely gracious with the man who captured the whole thing on film, continually thanking him for his kind words as she strolled through airport security with a face mask and sweats as to remain incognito.

If the songs she's dropped since Ctrl are any indication, SZA's sophomore album will undoubtedly be a banger, and we can't wait to rock with it on repeat.
