New York, New York - Have the debates on The View gone too far? Meghan McCain and Joy Behar's recent public spat has execs from ABC stepping in to hopefully squash their beef.

The long-running daytime show is known for its open discussions on politics and entertainment.

However, the hot topics segments have been on fire recently with the ongoing war of words between Behar and McCain.

On Monday, the cat claws came out when Behar and McCain duked it out over anti-Semitism. The heated discussion began when lead commentator, Whoopi Goldberg, brought up Republican Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, who was under fire for comparing the House mask mandates to the mandate for Jews to wear yellow stars during the Holocaust.

Meghan did slam the freshman legislator, but then the host moved onto the hate attacks that occurred in Los Angeles last week and expressed her frustrations with the media continually picking on the Republican party.

Behar, who is a staunch liberal, took offense to McCain's words, leading to an all-out fight between the two.

"I’ve been talking about antisemitism on this show for 25 frikkin' years. Don’t tell me what I’m supposed to be saying, Meghan, OK? You do your thing, we do ours," Behar shouted at McCain.

The conservative responded, "I'm not telling you what you're supposed to say," McCain said. "I'm well aware we do separate things on this show, Joy, OK? And I know you’ve been here 25 years. I’ve been here four."

Behar ended the spat by telling McCain that she should "show some respect." The two chatty co-hosts have been known to trade insults often, but TMZ notes that this latest blow caught the attention of the execs from ABC who reportedly met with the cast and told Behar and McCain to cool it with their intense disagreements.

Ironically, McCain has said before that she was very close to Behar and all her co-hosts.
