Farmington, Pennsylvania - Whoever thought it’d be a good idea to drop off five new girls into the den of wolves that is The Bachelor resort this season must have wanted the entire resort to burn down for the sake of one man finding the hottest love reality TV can write up.

It’s not shocking to know that this week’s episode of The Bachelor was full of verbal low blows and side-eyes. After all, that’s what the show’s been built one from the first season.

It’s one thing to have senseless drama unfold in between the group dates and one-on-ones. And even dropping five new ladies into the house three episodes into the show is manageable.

But to then plan and carry out a group date that literally pinned the original girls against each other in a boxing ring and expect it to go over smoothly – that’s a next-level train wreck that no one saw coming.

Clearly not satisfied with the normal amount of Bachelor drama, the producers decided to up the ante a bit more. That wasn't hard to do, given the substantial amount of girls who submitted videos just to get on this season after finding out that Matt was the lead. Several minutes into the fourth episode, Chris Harrison and Matt trekked through the lobby, passing a group of the girls, and made a bee-line for the front door.

Everyone speculated that Sarah, who left last week due to declining health concerns with her father, might be back – something those who trash-talked her out the door seemed to fear. But it turns out it was much worse than they could’ve imagined.

Rather than the return of an old contestant, they were granted five brand-new women seeking the same thing they were: the love, attention, and roses of Matt.

It was pretty clear these girls were in the midst of a rude awakening as they watched one of the new members of the show, Brittany Galvin, strut out of the limo and immediately latch onto the lips of Matt for a lengthy makeout session.

Clearly, this didn’t bode well, and established contestant Anna Redman wasn’t going to just sit there and not start up a wildfire of rumors about this new threat. It would be easy to just throw some slanderous, high-school insults at Brittany, but Anna really wanted to go for the kill. So, she started telling everyone that Brittany was actually an escort!

While the new girls settled into the madhouse they willingly signed up to be placed in; Matt took the OGs on a group date that had them training with professional boxer Mia St. John ahead of the big fight with the new arrivals. Either she trained them extremely well in a short period of time, or these girls were just lit with fury, jealousy, and rage once they got into the ring – whatever the explanation, things got brutal real fast.

For some reason, Matt didn’t see this coming, and after one girl too many got popped in the face, he called it early and everyone headed back to the resort to get ready for the rose ceremony.

Moments before the ceremony began, Matt was informed of the rumors Anna had been spreading about Brittany, and he vowed to not stand for it, telling viewers that he was going to get to the bottom of it before any roses were handed out.

In typical Bachelor fashion, they left everyone hanging until next week to see if and how Matt confronts Anna and the group about the rumors that could ruin a girl’s life.

With so much hanging in the balance, it’ll be interesting to see what Matt has to say on Monday. Will Anna get called out directly for the lies she spread? And how will Brittany handle all the negative attention from the group?
