Disney announces sensational cast for new Obi-Wan Kenobi series

Los Angeles, California - Disney has finally announced the cast for the long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi series, with filming set to begin as early as April.

Scottish actor Ewan McGregor (49) has already announced his return as the iconic Obi-Wan Kenobi in the production, which will be available on the Disney+ streaming service.

On Monday, the entertainment giant unveiled the rest of the all-star cast in a tweet.

Filming is scheduled to start in April and will be directed by Canadian Deborah Chow, who previously directed episodes of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

The new series is set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, in which young Jedi Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith lord Darth Vader.

Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role as Vader, 15 years after the end of the trilogy that almost wrecked his career.

Ewan McGregor appeared as Obi-Wan Kenobi in all three Star Wars prequels: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005).
