Internet - New hairstyle during lockdown? Desirous of an updated look, this mother took matters into her own hands – with hilarious results!

A mother, who goes by @theonlykeef on TikTok, experienced firsthand what it's like to dye your own hair – and to fail big-time.

She documented her bad hair day and posted the finished video on TikTok on Saturday.

The clip went viral on the social media platform. In just three days, she generated 7.8 million clicks and one million likes. What did she do to create such an internet sensation?

The woman rubbed her hair with Splat Midnight Ruby coloring. Afterwards, she resembled comic book hero Hellboy, as her hands, forehead, and part of her arms were also dyed red.

In order not to mess up her bathroom, the mother came up with a curious idea: why not rinse the dye off at a car wash?

The lady had her son and his girlfriend chauffeur her to the nearest car wash. She was noticeably embarrassed to get out of the vehicle until her other son arrived to block the entrance.

The mother used a pressure washer on her own hair, and the paint poured off of her, leaving a puddle that looked like a big pool of blood.

The frozen woman eventually got back in the car. In the video, she can be heard saying, "I'm so cold. Oh, I have many regrets." Her son responds, "Let's get out of here before anybody starts asking questions."

The TikTok community has been having a blast with the hilarious clip ever since.

The TikToker has since posted a new video showing off her red mane, which looks fantastic.

In the end, her efforts were not in vain!
