In the clip, the 23-year-old is seen attempting to lift a whopping 485 pounds at a gym in Dubai, slowly lowering the bench press bar to his chest. Then, out of nowhere, there's a bang!

A muscle in his right chest shatters, revealing a large bulge hidden under his workout tee. Ryan starts screaming right away and has to get off the bench. Fortunately, his gym buddies are on hand to help him secure the heavy weight.

Bodybuilder buddies collected more than $30,000 to pay for the bench press accident's medical bills

Ryan underwent a four-hour surgery the following day. On Instagram he told his followers that he wasn't able to feel his arms and legs for two days and that the severe pain caused him to constantly throw up.

"I was in really bad way after I couldn’t feel my legs or arms for 2 days, I was severely vomiting and in tremendous amount of pain for 3 days after surgery so I was kept in hospital, once I began to be able to walk and feel my limbs again we were discharged."

Ryan has since returned home, but his injured muscular body still needs a lot of rest - and there's another problem: The Brit's insurance won't cover the cost of the expensive surgery.
