Biden calls Fox News reporter "stupid SOB" in hot mic slip
Washington DC - President Joe Biden called Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy a "stupid son of a b****" after Doocy shouted a question the president found ridiculous.
"Do you think inflation is a political liability ahead of the midterms?" Doocey asked Monday at the end of a news conference.
The president, seemingly not noticing he was still seated in front of a live microphone, looked off camera, repeated the question, then replied sarcastically.
"That’s a great asset, more inflation," Biden said, before grumbling, "What a stupid son of a b****."
Doocy established himself as a White House gadfly during the president’s marathon press conference last week by asking the leading question, such as: "Why are you trying so hard in your first year to pull the country so far to the left?"
Before calling on the Fox News reporter, Biden said none of Doocy’s questions make a lot of sense to him, but he’s willing to try to provide answers. The Fox reporter later said the president had "cleared the air" by calling him "within an hour of that exchange."
"He said 'It's nothing personal, pal,' Doocy quoted Biden on Hannity.
Government officials getting salty
Someone immediately went on to Doocy’s Wikipedia page after the president’s remark Monday with an update.
"On January 24, 2022, Doocy attracted national attention when Joe Biden called Doocy a 'stupid son of a b****,' which is a true statement," the update to the reporter’s biography read. That addition was quickly cleaned up by Wikipedia.
Doocy is the son of Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy.
US government officials have had harsh words for conservative critics as of late.
Last week, when Senator Roger Marshall asked NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci if he’d hand over his already publicly available financial disclosures, the infectious disease expert let his frustration at the line of questioning show.
"What a moron," Fauci said under his breath. "Jesus Christ!"
