Boston just added another award to her impressive list of accolades on Monday night.

The star basketball player received the Honda Cup award, which is given to the top collegiate female athlete each year, in a ceremony at the Galen Center on the University of Southern California campus.

The junior forward is the Gamecocks' first athlete to win the award, and first basketball player to win since UConn's Breanna Stewart in 2016. The Gamecocks' women's basketball head coach Dawn Staley also won the award in 1991 while playing at Virginia.

"This is really just amazing," Boston said when she received the award. "I'm just so thankful."

"It means a lot. A lot of these women are my role models. Coach Staley was a past winner. Candace Parker [has been] my role model since I was nine years old."

In March, Boston was named the Naismith Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season after leading the Gamecocks to their second NCAA Championship win.

The other two finalists for the 2022 Honda Cup award were Oklahoma Sooners softball senior Jocelyn Alo and record-breaking Florida Gator gymnast Trinity Thomas.

The top three women were selected by a voting pool made up of nearly 1,000 NCAA schools. The winner was chosen by the Board of Directors of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards program.

Boston joins a star-studded group of women's basketball players who have won the award including Maya Moore, Brittney Griner, Candace Parker, Rebecca Lobo, and Cheryl Miller.
