NBA: Streaking Suns dominate on the road to down the Rockets

Houston, Texas - The Phoenix Suns continue to shine on the road with a big win over the struggling Houston Rockets on Sunday night.

The Suns routed the Rockets 115-89 to extend their winning streak to eight games in a row, while Houston is now on its 11th straight loss.

Last year’s Western Conference champions have started the season on a mission, hoping to finally get that elusive first-ever NBA title.

Houston led by no more than two points in the game and slipped further and further away from the Suns as the game progressed on.

The Rockets never got anything going while playing sloppy basketball, turning the ball over 23 times and couldn’t protect the rock much either, letting the Suns steal the ball 16 times in the game.

This game was all Phoenix’s as they enjoyed double-digit leads as big as 28 points before cruising away with the easy win.

The Suns had six players scoring in double-figures, but it was shooting guard Devin Booker (25) who led the way for Phoenix.

He’s been his team’s scoring leader with 22.4 points per game and he would have been rubbing his hands at the thought of facing this kind of faltering opposition.

Booker set the tone early for the Suns with 16 points in just the first quarter.

The Suns are yet again right up there among the best in the west, sitting second behind the Warriors.

And even though a win against the Rockets was pretty much a foregone conclusion, it’s another win on an impressive streak that shows they are more than capable of making a return appearance in the 2022 Finals.

On Monday, the Suns head to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves while the Rockets look to break their losing streak in Memphis, against the Grizzlies.
