NBA: Warriors win again, clipping the Pelicans for three straight

San Francisco, California - The Golden State Warriors keep on rolling as one of the NBA’s best teams after making easy work of the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

The Warriors routed the Pelicans 126-85 for their third-straight win, improving to 7-1 this season.

It was an easy 41-point blowout for Golden State playing against a team that only has one win out of ten games played, in addition to toughing out a six-game losing streak.

But you would’ve never thought the Pelicans were struggling after scoring nearly as much as the Warriors did in the first quarter, trailing just 38-31.

Once the second quarter got underway, things went downhill for the Pelicans as Golden State’s defense held New Orleans under 20 points in each of the next three quarters.

The Warriors, on the other hand, averaged nearly 32 points each quarter as they rolled to victory.

With the way the Warriors were performing, their best players got to relax and enjoy the rest of the game.

Stepping up to lead the way was guard Jordan Poole (22), who had the biggest scoring performance of the night.

Steph Curry even got outscored, which doesn’t happen often.

In just 28 minutes, Poole shot 10-for-15, including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc for 26 points, to lead all scorers.

The Warriors are definitely separating themselves from the rest of the pack, tied with the Jazz for the league’s best record.

One of their best scorers, Klay Thompson, has been working to return from a torn Achilles, but with the way they’ve been playing in his absence, they’re not in a rush to have him back.

When he does finally return to his top form, the rest of the league should be on notice to watch out for the Warriors.

On Sunday, the Warriors stay home to face the Rockets, while the Pelicans are in Dallas Monday night to take on the Mavericks.
