NFL: Rams keep on rolling as they beat Texans to extend winning streak

Houston, Texas - The Los Angeles Rams went on the road and cruised to a big victory over the lowly Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams routed the Texans 38-22, extending their winning streak to four games and improving their perfect record on the road to 4-0.

After winning the NFL season opener in September, the Texans have now come up short in seven consecutive games.

The Texans managed to survive the first quarter trailing the Rams only 7-0 but after that, the onslaught commenced as LA put on an offensive clinic.

The Rams put up 17 points in the second quarter and then 14 more in the third before the bench players came in the game to give the starters an early rest.

Houston was able to take advantage of LA’s backups to finally get on the scoreboard with 22 unanswered points, which actually put some late-game pressure on the Rams.

But the Rams were able to finally shut down Houston in the final minutes of the game for the win.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford (33) seems to be working very well in his first year with the Rams.

In just eight games played so far this season, he’s passed for over 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns, a career-high for him.

The Rams offensive game plan was so on-point for him on Sunday, he only needed three quarters to do more than enough damage to the Texans.

He was replaced in the fourth quarter, but not before completing 21 of 32 pass attempts for 305 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rams now have the same 7-1 record as the NFC West-leading Cardinals, who lost their first game this season on Thursday.

With the way LA is playing, and if the Cards can get back to winning ways after the recent setback, the division might go down to the wire in January, or maybe even sooner, when the two teams meet in December.

Next Sunday, the Rams (7-1) go back home to take on the Titans (6-2) while the Texans (1-7) head to Miami to play the Dolphins (1-7).
