NFL: The Lions are still winless as the Ravens get a record-breaking last-second win

Detroit, Michigan - The Baltimore Ravens escaped with a last-second win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, thanks to their franchise kicker making some long-range history.

The Ravens won over the Lions, 19-17 for their second-straight win this season thanks to the most accurate kicker in NFL history.

The Lions have yet to win a game so far, three weeks into the 2021 regular season.

Justin Tucker (31) was the main man for Baltimore and his team’s leading scorer, booting through four out of five kicking attempts including the most important one that won the game for the Ravens.

Tucker’s game-winning kick was a 66-yard field goal that got a friendly bounce from the crossbar to successfully fall between the uprights.

That kick is now the longest field goal all-time in NFL history, breaking the original mark set nearly eight years ago.

This record-setting feat almost didn't happen though, as the Ravens went into the fourth quarter ahead 16-7, but found themselves down by one with just over one minute remaining in regulation.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson went 16-for-31 passing with a season-high 287 yards, one interception, and his team’s only touchdown of the day, a 19-yard pass to Devin Duvernay.

Though he didn’t get into the end zone, Mark Andrews did catch five passes for a game-high 109 yards for the Ravens.

Detroit’s running game tried their best to keep things interesting with touchdown runs each by D'Andre Swift, who totaled up 107 yards on the ground, and Jamaal Williams in the second half, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff, who’s still looking for his first win with Detroit, had a decent game completing 22 of 30 pass attempts for 217 yards.

Next Sunday, the Ravens (2-1) head out west to take on the Broncos (3-0) in Denver while the Lions (0-3) look for their first win of the year in Chicago, against the Bears (1-2).
