Tom Brady gets slapped with huge NFL fine for kicking Falcons' Grady Jarrett

Tampa, Florida - After a controversial penalty was committed by Falcons defender Grady Jarrett on the Buccaneers' Tom Brady, the NFL has now ruled the star quarterback attempted to kick Jarrett in response and served him a whopping fine.

On Friday, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was fined $11,1309, per reports, for kicking Atlanta Falcons Grady Jarrett during their Week 5 game of the NFL season.

Following Tampa Bay's 21-15 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 of the football season on Sunday, the NFL opened an investigation into whether the Brady should be punished for allegedly trying to kick Falcons pass rusher Jarrett after getting sacked.

While there appeared to be two separate kicks from Brady during the game, the NFL ruled on Friday that the greatest quarterback of all time will only be fined for one.

Now, Brady's bank account will reportedly take a rough hit with an $11,139 fine.

According to the league, fines for kicking are $11,139 for a first offense and $16,444 for a second offense. Players are notified of fines on the Friday following the previous weekend's games.

Yet, this is not the first time the athlete has been fined for attempting to kick another player.

During the 2013 AFC Championship Game, the seven-time Super Bowl champion was docked $10,000 by the league for kicking safety Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens.

The play in question was widely discussed by unhappy fans, who set social media abuzz after the incident.

Facing 3rd and 5 in the fourth quarter, Brady was sacked by Jarrett in what was a huge momentum play for the Falcons, who were down 21-15.

Officials issued a penalty for "roughing the passer" against Jarrett for unnecessarily throwing Brady to the ground.

Fans quickly turned to Twitter to share their disappointment, with debate over whether the penalty should have even been give in the first place.

"That roughing the passer call on Tom Brady is gross and someone should lose their job like right now," one fan tweeted, agreeing with many that the passer was not "roughed."

"Suspend him please! That’s more dangerous than shoving a camera man. Tom Brady kicked him with cleats," another fan tweeted, believing Brady's actions deserved a harsher punishment than Raiders star Davante Adams' recent violent outburst.

Brady's fine is the star's latest headline after the football legend broke the internet last week with shocking reports of his divorce on the way from supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen.
