The star gymnast is planning to compete in the Olympic individual balance beam finals on Tuesday.

USA Gymnastics announced the news in a tweet: "We are so excited to confirm that you will see two US athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow – Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!! Can’t wait to watch you both!"

The exciting update comes after the American athlete shocked the world by withdrawing from the gymnastics all-around team finals and the individual all-around finals one day later.

Though some were critical of the move, many more fans were quick to defend Simone and express their support for her tough decision.

Hope remained that Simone might compete in individual Olympic events, but on Sunday, she did not participate in the vault and the uneven bars competitions. She also pulled out of the floor exercise on Monday.

The balance beam was the last hope for fans longing to see the champion gymnast compete again in Tokyo, and it seems they will get their wish.

But Simone won't be the only American striving for gold on the balance beam. Tuesday's competition will also feature Sunisa Lee, who won the individual all-around gold medal following Simone's withdrawal.

Simone's brave decision to step back for her mental health arguably earned her more praise and admiration than an Olympic gold medal ever could.
